The Off Season is calling
June 2021
Winter has arrived and Tourism Tasmania’s Off Season winter campaign is in full swing.
Tasmania’s tourism and hospitality industry has collectively rallied around the campaign responding with hundreds of unique and creative Off Season experiences or offerings around the state that can only be enjoyed this winter.
They include everything from a complimentary Hot Gin Toddy, special access to a Raptor hide, two-night wukalina walk experience to encountering baby devils, enjoying mulled wine by an outdoor fire and Sunday night speakeasies.
As part of the anti-ordinary winter campaign, Tourism Tasmania will be providing underprepared travellers with an Off Season guide and a complimentary pair of ‘Loan Johns’ thermals to ensure they stay warm during their winter adventures.
Off Season Loan Johns will be available for travellers arriving at Launceston Airport on 5 June and Hobart Airport on 2 July, stocks are limited.
With ongoing border disruptions impacting many in the industry, Tasmanians are also encouraged to embrace our Off Season, support industry and get out and explore the wonderful range of special wintry experiences on their doorstep.
The Off Season Guide is available around the state through Tourism Brochure Exchange sites and at the airports to ensure all travellers can make the most of their Off Season holiday.
Travellers, tourism operators and locals are encouraged to share the best of their Tasmanian winter adventures using #TassieOffSeason.
The winter Off Season campaign received grant funding from the Australian Government under the Recovery for Regional Tourism program, an initiative of the $1 billion COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Fund.
A limited number of Loan John thermals will be available for interstate travellers arriving in the state on Saturday, 5 June (Launceston Airport) and Friday, 2 July (Hobart Airport).
