Taking Tasmania’s brand to the next level
Will Hodgman, Premier.
We are taking Tasmania’s brand to the next level, and will give Brand Tasmania more resources and capacity as a new statutory authority.
The Brand Tasmania Bill introduced in Parliament today will help turbo-charge our brand, by establishing this new body.
Our brand is one of our greatest assets, and there has never been a better time to turn-up the spotlight that’s already shining on our people, place and produce – which are the best in the world.
Brand Tasmania will lead our brand promotion, collaboration, and coordination, and this mirrors our move on coming into government to make Tourism Tasmania independent statutory authority, which has been a clear success.
The Authority will continue to great work of the Brand Tasmania Council, and will work with closely with business, industry, and the broader community to amp up a brand that all Tasmanians can embrace and use.
It is planned that the Authority will commence operation in early 2019, and the positions of Board Chair and CEO will be recruited over the next couple of months.
This move follows an audit of our brand to better understand its attributes and strengths, how we can best amp up its value into the future.
