Anchors away for Mona Roma 2
Will Hodgman, Premier
The launch of the brilliant new $5.5 million Mona Roma 2 ferry will further propel Mona’s reputation as one the country’s greatest tourism experiences.
The new vessel to be operated by Navigators, was built entirely by local fine boat builders, Richardson Devine Marine Constructions, and will help get the increasing number of visitors to the museum in style.
The Mona Roma 2 is a wonderful addition to Hobart’s waterfront and the Tasmanian Government is proud to have supported this project through a $700,000 loan.
Mona has played a pivotal part in the surge of our creative industries, which are bringing more visitors to Tasmania, creating local jobs and supporting local businesses.
This new service, to set sail from this weekend, will add a new dimension to the unique and unforgettable experience that last year attracted more than 350,000 people.
