Accommodation Supply and Demand in Greater Hobart 2010-2017

This report was prepared by BDA Marketing and Planning on behalf of Tourism Tasmania. The report shows that the accommodation supply in the Greater Hobart area has not kept pace with the growth in demand.

Since 2001 Hobart has experienced 70% growth in the number of nights stayed by visitors however the supply of accommodation has increased by just 20%.

The report has significant implications for town planners considering future public developments for Great Hobart as well as highlights the many opportunities still available for private investors in Hobart.
